This is a translation for convenience. If there is any difference, the Portuguese version prevails.
1. The seller
acende.me. Full seller details are under Legal information. Contact: ajuda@acende.me.
2. The product
We sell photo lamps with a 3D-printed lithophane panel in PLA plastic, and the parts that complete them: a stand, an IKEA KAPPLAKE light and a USB power adapter. Parts are chosen before payment; the light and adapter are only sold together with the photo panel or the stand.
The 3D preview is a simulation made from the uploaded photo. The finished piece may show slight differences in tone and the fine layer lines of 3D printing, which are part of the process and not defects. We are not partners of IKEA; the KAPPLAKE is an IKEA product we resell unaltered.
3. Prices and payment
Prices are in euros and include all taxes. VAT not charged: exemption scheme under Article 53 of the Portuguese VAT Code. Delivery is included in the price.
Payment is made when ordering, by MB WAY, card, Multibanco, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Klarna or Amazon Pay. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store card details. The invoice is sent by email.
4. The photo
By uploading a photo, the customer confirms they have the right to use it (they took it or have permission) and that the people shown in it, or their legal representatives, agree. We may refuse photos with unlawful or offensive content, or that infringe third-party rights; in that case we refund the amount paid.
We use the photo only to make the piece and delete it 30 days after the order is dispatched, delivered or cancelled (8 days if payment isn't completed). More in the privacy policy.
5. Production and delivery
Each piece is made to order. Production takes 2–4 working days and delivery 1–2 working days on the mainland; 2–5 working days in the Azores and Madeira (CTT). Every step can be followed at the link sent by email, without an account, and the CTT tracking number is sent when the order leaves. We ship within Portugal only (mainland and islands).
6. Right of withdrawal (14-day returns)
The photo panel is made to order with the image supplied, so it has no right of withdrawal (Article 17(1)(c) of Portuguese Decree-Law No. 24/2014).
The stand, light and adapter are not personalised: they can be returned without giving a reason within 14 days of delivery. Notice is given by email within that period and the parts are returned within the following 14 days. Return postage is paid by the customer. We refund the value of those parts (and the original delivery cost, if the whole order is returned) within 14 days of the notice, and may wait until the parts arrive.
7. Warranty
All parts, including the photo panel, have the 3-year statutory guarantee (Portuguese Decree-Law No. 84/2021). If anything arrives broken, faulty or different from what was ordered, just email photos: we repair, replace or refund it at no cost.
8. Complaints and disputes
Complaints can also be made in the Portuguese Electronic Complaints Book. Consumer disputes can be referred to the alternative dispute resolution body CNIACC – Centro Nacional de Informação e Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo. More information on the Portuguese Consumer Portal (www.consumidor.gov.pt).
9. Intellectual property
The content of this site (text, images, designs and 3D models) and our lithophane production process are protected. Copying, extracting, reproducing or reusing any of it, in whole or in part, without our written permission is not allowed. The uploaded photo still belongs to whoever sent it; third-party parts we use keep their authors' licences.
The stand base is a modified version of “2 Versions – Lithophane Stand for IKEA Kapplake” by pauk, under the CC BY 4.0 licence. IKEA and KAPPLAKE are trademarks of Inter IKEA Systems B.V.; we have no connection with IKEA.
The sample photos printed on the site before a photo is chosen are in the public domain (CC0, Wikimedia Commons): Labrador retriever (Trashmut); Gato tabby de olhos azuis (AdinaVoicu); Flor aberta (hibisco) (Kurt Kaiser); Montanha com neve, Colorado (Mshuang2). The first sample (the lake) is our own image, drawn in code.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law, without prejudice to statutory consumer rights.
